Dental Insurance Health Care, Possible Link Between Periodontal Disease and Diabetes
In a preliminary 2007 study researcher found a possible link between periodontal (gum) disease and a progression toward diabetes. The study was done on rats who were already pre-diabetic. While the results are still early it suggests one more possible reason to keep up with good dental health care. The study was published online in the Journal of Periodontology.
